During your stay in Sinaia you can visit a lot of touristic sights, such as Peleș Castle, Sinaia Casino or Dimitrie Ghica Park. Also, you can hop on Gondola Sinaia for some vistas over the area.
The neo-renaissance chateau was built between 1873 and 1883 as a summer residence for King Carol I. There are 170 rooms in it. The interiors are decorated in a baroque style - decorated with allegorical frescoes, precious fabrics and carved wood. Currently, the palace houses a museum.
The museum collections include, among others collection of weapons and armor over 4 thousand exhibits and a collection of silver and metal consisting of 5.5 thousand. exhibits, mainly utility items such as plates, goblets and snuff boxes. You can also see a unique collection of glass from Germany, Austria, Italy, France and the Czech Republic. It has 1.5 thousand. items including crystals and colored glass.
In addition, the collection includes a collection of 50 clocks - standing, wall and miniature pocket clocks. Most of them come from the 19th century and belonged to King Charles I. It is also worth taking a look at the collection of 800 stained glass windows depicting religious scenes, scenes from the life of aristocrats and motifs from fairy tales.
The picturesque park was founded in 1881. It was built as a recreational space according to the design of the Belgian landscape architect Eder. The park was renovated in 2010. Lanterns and benches with the appearance of those from the beginning of the 20th century were set up. The pavilion and fountain were also restored.
Along the alleys, busts of eminent writers, playwrights and historians were set up, including Mihai Eminescu, Iona Creangă, Dimitrie Ghica and Nicolae Bălcescu. During the walk you can see a historic stone bench from 1905 and the building of the Buceg Nature Reserve Museum, located in a former restaurant.
The park is surrounded by historic buildings from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, such as Hotel Palace, Hotel Caraiman or Hotel Regal 1880. There is also the Sinaia Casino, modeled on the famous Monte Carlo Casino. Originally there were also Hotel Sinaia, restaurants, baths and a two-story villa, but they all burned down during the fire.
Situated in the heart of the Bucegi Mountains and reaching the highest altitude in Romania a cable has reached– 2050 m, Sinaia Gondola can be seen as the transition point between sky and earth, between beautiful and spectacular.
The 1000-1400 section of Sinaia Gondola starts from Furnica neighborhood, reaching 1400 elevation. The 1400-2000 section of Sinaia Gondola is one of the latest and most performant cable installations from Europe and around the Globe.
The Sinaia Casino is located in ''Dimitrie Ghic'' park and was built at the initiative of King Carol I of Romania.
It has a spectacular architecture and carries with it the Sinaia's fairytale atmosphere, the living soul of the royal period.
